I can’t believe this is the first time since April last year that I actually opened this site to write down my thoughts again. It’s going to be brief, but I know that this is going to lead to something more exciting.
I attended my church’s service today at Fort Bonifacio and the line “Let us go over to the other side” struck me the most. Our pastor talked about that time when Jesus and his disciples encountered a squall as they navigated along the Sea of Galilee. While his disciples were restless and anxious, Jesus was a picture of calmness. When the disciples asked for his help, Jesus rebuked the waves and asked them to calm down.
Why did that line move me? Because I have been wanting to go over to the other side but just couldn’t get the courage to do it. Because for a long time now, my right foot’s on the edge of the pier while my left foot’s trying to get to the boat that is slowly moving away.
I have been wanting to make the move but there are just too many things that are keeping me from doing it – squalls, if you’d like to put it that way. I have to get on that boat. I know my faith will get me on that boat and it will lead me to more wonderful journeys.
Today, I got a wonderful message and I am on my way back to one of the things I truly love. Getting over to the other side brings a myriad of wisdom that is just so beautiful to ignore. Getting over to the other side allows us to venture out. It promises adventure. Getting over to the other side changes our vantages, our points of view. It results to so many advantages.
Let us go over to the other side. I think Juanderkid will be back very soon. Journey with me, will you? 🙂
